6 to 7 inches long
- Muscles
& skin develop
- Tiny
fingernails begin to grow
Fifth
Month –
- Baby
weighs about 20 ounces & is about 12 inches long
- Baby
opens & closes eyes
- Baby can
suck their thumb
- Baby can
hear & will react to loud noises
- Mom can
feel the baby move
Sixth
Month –
- Baby has
hair & eyelashes
- Baby
weighs about 1 ½ pounds
- Baby can
cry, but very weakly
Seventh
Month –
- Baby is
15 inches long
- Baby can
taste, touch, cough, yawn & hiccup
- Baby
receives antibodies from mother to prevent illnesses
Eighth
Month –
- Baby is
18 inches long
- Develops
layers of fat to keep warm
- Baby
recognizes mother’s voice
Ninth
Month –
- Lungs
are fully developed
- Baby is
about 7 pounds
- Shifts
to a head down position – ready for birth!
